About the campsite

At the farm Hjalli in Reykjadalur, the owners and residents operate a small campsite in a peaceful environment. The entire area is divided into private plots ranging from 80 to 150 square meters, each separated by bushes and trees. While not necessary, it is convenient and secure to book in advance for this reason. Emphasis is placed on quality surroundings and personal service. The campsite is monitored and maintained, with a commitment to keeping it, the environment, and the service facilities clean, tidy, and attractive.

Booking information:

We place great importance on preventing areas from becoming muddy in wet weather, so it is only possible to book a week in advance during the summer (in winter, parking is on gravel and can be booked further in advance). We rent cabins for sleeping bag accommodation (maximum three people) and smaller units (maximum two), which can also be booked at parka.is.

Detailed description of plots/facilities:

In 2004, the owners of Hjalli and Norðurlandsskógar made an agreement to create shelter belts on two old fields. All plots at the campsite have trees and bushes on three sides, and the plots vary in size, the smallest being about 80 square meters and the largest nearly 200 square meters.

The service building includes a small lounge and three bathrooms with a total of four showers, five toilets, and one urinal. In an unheated space, there are basic cooking facilities, sinks, and bins for recycling. There are facilities for emptying sewage (toilet waste only, not gray water) and a hose for filling drinking water tanks.
